General Motors announced Friday it is donating $100,000 in grants to 10 Warren-area non-profit organizations.
DETROIT -- General Motors announced Friday it is donating $100,000 in grants to 10 Warren-area non-profit organizations.
The Detroit automaker made the announcement at the unveiling of a new solar array at its Warren Transmission plant. The solar array is part of a partnership with DTE Energy.
Funded by the GM Foundation, the grants are going to these organizations and programs:
- Family Youth Interventions
- Winning Futures
- Big Brothers / Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit
- Macomb Science Olympiad
- Judson Center
- Clinton River Watershed Council
- Detroit Downriver A. Philip Randolph Institute
- Urban League of Detroit & Southeast Michigan
- Warren Symphony Orchestra
- Advancing Macomb
"This year, the GM Community Grants program will provide nearly $2 million in funding to hundreds of organizations in 47 communities where GM employees live and work," GM Foundation president Jackie Parker said in a release. "Through these community grants, the GM is building stronger communities and enriching the lives of its neighbors."
