Chevrolet has announced that the all-new, sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro will be revealed Sunday, May 16 in Detroit.

DETROIT, MI - Chevrolet has announced that the all-new, sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro will be revealed Sunday, May 16 in Detroit.

The unveiling will cap a day-long celebration on Detroit's Belle Isle, where the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix will take place later that month on the weekend of May 29-31.

The May 16 reveal is free and open to the public, although Chevrolet officials warn that space is limited, and priority will be given to Camaro owners who bring their muscle cars to the island for the day. More info on the event can be found at www.thecamarosix.com.

"This will be an event Camaro fans will not want to miss," Todd Christensen, Camaro marketing manager, said in a release. "This is only the sixth time we have introduced an all-new Camaro. We wanted to share the moment with the customers and fans who have helped make Camaro both America's favorite performance car and a cultural icon."

About 1,000 people are expected to attend the Camaro reveal. The day's festivities also include a "Camaro Museum" display of the most significant vehicles in Chevrolet's 104-year history, as well as hot-lap rides in the 2015 Camaro Z/28 around the Belle Isle Grand Prix racetrack.

There will also be meet-and-greet opportunities with designers and engineers, and Camaro-only parking for owners of the muscle car.
