The Auburn Hills-based automaker Friday said Chrysler Chairman and CEO Sergio Marchionne and Detroit Mayor Dave Bing will join employees, United Auto Workers representatives and public officials Nov. 15 ''to announce new investments and jobs in Southeast Michigan.''
DETROIT, MI- Chrysler Group LLC is expected to announce new investments and jobs next week at one of its Detroit facilities.The Auburn Hills-based automaker Friday said Chrysler Chairman and CEO Sergio Marchionne and Detroit Mayor Dave Bing will join employees, United Auto Workers representatives and public officials Nov. 15 “to announce new investments and jobs in Southeast Michigan.”
The announcement is scheduled to take place at the Auburn Hills-based automaker’s Mack I Engine Plant, where nearly 150 hourly employees makes V8 engines for the Ram 1500.
Others officials scheduled to attend the announcement include General Holiefield, vice president of UAW Chrysler Department and Bob Hollingsworth, Mack Engine Complex plant manager.
Last month, Chrysler sold 25,222 Ram pickups, up 20 percent from 21,037 during October 2011. Through the first 10 months of this year, the brand reported 238,815 pickups sold, up 20 percent from 199,010 units last year.
