The Dearborn-based automaker Tuesday reported it sold 212,584 vehicles last month, led by its new vehicle offerings and best-selling F-Series pickup trucks.
DEARBORN- Ford Motor Co. experienced a strong 18 percent sales increase last month compared to April 2012.
Led by some of its new vehicle offerings and best-selling F-Series pickup trucks, the Dearborn-based automaker Tuesday reported it sold 212,584 vehicles last month.
“We are working harder than ever to keep pace with record demand for our all-new, fuel-efficient Fusion and Escape – with sales growth particularly strong on the coasts,” said Ken Czubay, Ford vice president of U.S. marketing, sales and service, in a statement. “F-Series pickups also continue to build on their momentum as the housing and construction industries rebound.”
Ford's struggling Lincoln luxury brand also contributed to the automaker's sales success with sales up 21 percent, as the new Lincoln MKZ established an all-time monthly sales record of 4,012 vehicles sold for the month.
In April, Ford's best-selling vehicles remained unchanged for a fourth-straight month.
