DETROIT, MI - Honda is recalling almost 46,000 of its Fit Sport cars in the U.S. and Canada because of a problem with the electronic stability control system, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Model years 2012 and 2013 are included in the recall.

The recall stems from government tests that found that, with a certain set of tires, the vehicle’s stability control system could let the car tilt too far before it applies the brakes. No crashes have been reported as a result of the apparent defect.

Honda dealers can update the car’s software system to get the problem, fixed free of charge. The company will send out notifications in mid-May.
