Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne to speak in Detroit

DETROIT, MI- Chrysler Group LLC chairman and CEO Sergio Marchionne will address about 1,000 people today at the 11th annual Auto Show Breakfast in Detroit.

The Inforum event, presented by Chrysler and KPMG, is sold out. It is in conjunction with the organization’s AutomotiveNEXT, an industry group that brings together experts and practitioners who collaborate on automotive industry issues, share best practices and bring forth new ideas.

Marchionne should have a lot to talk about. The Auburn Hills-based automaker just unveiled a new Dodge Dart GT compact and three updated Jeep models at the 2013 North American International Auto Show, including its best-belling Grand Cherokee.

Chrysler has also achieved 33-consecutive months of year-over-year sales gains and sold 1.65 million vehicles in 2012, up 21 percent from the previous year.

Following Marchionne’s remarks, AutomotiveNEXT will bring together more than 100 university students and young professionals to meet with top women executives in the automotive industry.

Officials say The purpose of the event is to illustrate the breadth of the automotive industry and its range of careers – from engineers to accountants, finance, marketing

Inforum is a professional women’s alliance with more than 1,800 members across the state. The group is based in Southeast Michigan and has chapters in Mid-Michigan and West Michigan.
