DETROIT - Spy photos published Tuesday by Autoweek add fuel to rumors that General Motors is developing a mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette.
The photo by KGP Photography shows a development mule with a very short front end and elongated rear. Even with heavy camouflage, the features suggest a mid-engine sports car.
Of course, there are still far more unknowns about the car in the photo and the rumored mid-engine 'Vette in general, such as general specs and whether the a new car would replace the current, C7 Corvette or be an addition to the lineup.
Citing an inside source, Car and Driver reported in May that a mid-engine 2019 Chevrolet Corvette is expected to debut at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
