Some of the cars are classics, some are 2017 models. You can see all seven cars in the photo gallery above.
These works of ice art took about one week each to build. Each car contains about 60 to 70 blocks of ice.
All seven ice cars are on display in and around Campus Martius beginning on Sunday, January 10, 2016 through the end of the North American International Auto Show.

"CARved is a great addition to all the fun activities and attractions downtown and will be appreciated by kids and car enthusiasts alike," said John Marcicky, Quicken Loans director of placemaking. "We have sculptures of classic cars that give a nod to the Motor City's automotive roots, and brand new concepts that embody the city's innovation, providing a fun experience the whole family can enjoy."
The cars selected to be part of the ice sculpture display tie in to other things happening in the downtown area.
The 300G, Mustang and Miura classics were chosen as accompaniments to the real cars which are part of The Drive Home, an 11-day road rally from Tacoma, Washington to Detroit to coincide with the opening of the NAIAS.
The ice-carved cars are the creation of Ice Creations, a family owned company from Ohio. Owner Chad Hartson is one of America's leading sculptors with national and international recognition.
