DETROIT, MI - Ford Motor Co.'s U.S. sales grew 5 percent to 2,613,162 units in 2015, marking its best performance since 2006.
The Dearborn automaker said its Ford brand sold 2,511,935 vehicles in 2015, making it the best selling brand in the U.S.
F-Series trucks also continued their streak as the top-selling vehicle in the country to 34 years, with 780,354 trucks sold for all of 2015.
The results came on a strong December, when sales rose 8 percent to 239,242 vehicles.
"December capped off six straight months of year-over-year sales gains for F-Series, with strong increases coming from both retail sales and the strength of commercial fleet orders, as we closed out 2015," Mark LaNeve, Ford's vice president of U.S. marketing, sales and service, said in a release. "Ford-brand SUVs delivered their best sales results in more than a decade, with our newest SUVs leaving dealer lots in a matter of days."
