DETROIT, MI - Remember the DeLorean DMC-12 and the 1985 Toyota pickup from the movie "Back to the Future"?
Toyota has outfitted a Mirai to resemble the time-traveling sports car, and a 2016 Tacoma to resemble the 1985 pickup, which Marty McFly's parents bestowed on him in a happy ending to the first film in the Robert Zemeckis trilogy.
The hydrogen fuel cell -powered Mirai pays homage to the movies with a flux capacitor, gull-wing doors, a stainless steel finish and a time-traveling destination on the heads-up display.
The Tacoma is in black and has the classic "TOYOTA" logo across the tailgate.
The Japanese automaker first showed off the Back To the Future vehicles at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas earlier this month.
It's part of a marketing campaign the company has run for the Mirai, which officially went on sale on Oct. 21, 2015 - the same date Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) arrived in the future in the second film to find hover boards, hologram newscasts and cars that fly.
