The 36,000 square foot building will replace GR Auto Gallery's current headquarters at 3851 Model Court SE. The company also operates showrooms in Traverse City and Wixom, Mich.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - GR Auto Gallery, a five-year-old consignment shop for collectible and foreign cars, is moving into a new indoor showroom and headquarters at 4722 50th St. SE on Sept. 1.

The 36,000-square-foot building will replace GR Auto Gallery's current headquarters at 3851 Model Court SE. The company also operates showrooms in Traverse City and Wixom, Mich.

"The new building will give improved visibility to those who bring in their vehicle," said John Hoekstra, one of the gallery's founders.

"All the cars come with such great stories of their owners and their ownership. It's truly a relationship business."

"Tried and tested in West Michigan, the owners are ready to take their model to both coasts," the news release said. "This new location is the first step of many toward national expansion."

The dealership won a celebrity endorsement from comedian Jerry Seinfeld, when he used a GR Auto Gallery Boss 302 Mustang for his show, "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee."

The showroom is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and by appointment on Saturdays. GR Auto Gallery will complete the move on Sept. 1, according to a news release.

The business was founded in 2010 by Hoekstra, Jeff Bowen and Christopher Hoexum, when they merged Hoekstra LTD and Wheelz Sales and Leasing.
