DETROIT, MI - Ford Motor Co. said it plans to make a signifcant announcement regarding Ford Performance on Friday morning at about 9 a.m.

Ford said in January it plans to release 12 new Ford Performance vehicles over the next five years.
Ford unveiled the GT, an F-150 Raptor, a Mustang Shelby GT350 R and other performance cars at 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit that same month.
The Deaborn automaker also in February revealed the all-wheel-drive Ford Focus RS.
It's not clear if Friday's announcement is vehicle-related, or whether it concerns some other aspect of Ford Performance. Stay tuned for an update.
