DETROIT, MI- The 2014 Chevrolet Impala will start at under $28,000, General Motors Co. recently announced.
The 10th generation of the full-size sedan will go on sale spring 2013 with a starting price of $27,535, including an $810 destination charge.

First-ever Chevrolet safety technologies in the vehicle include full-speed-range adaptive cruise control, which uses radars and sensors to adjust the vehicle’s speed from a complete stop to full acceleration; collision mitigation braking, which has the ability to apply the brakes; and a brake pre-fill feature that detects a possible crash threat and increases the hydraulic pressure in the brake lines, anticipating a driver’s hard braking
The redesigned Impala, which debuted earlier this year, features an aggressive exterior redesign that takes distinctive cues from vehicles such as the Chevy Camaro and Malibu.
GM has built about 16 million Impalas since introducing the nameplate in 1958, according to GM spokesman Otie McKinley. The vehicle was previously redesigned in '06, '00, '94, '77, '71, '65, '62 and '59.
The interior of the new vehicle also has been completely redesigned with Chevy’s dual-cockpit that features a new instrument panel with a standard 4.2-inch color display with reconfigurable features for the driver.
An eight-inch touch screen with concealed storage, which resembles the automaker’s Cadillac CUE infotainment system, is available with the latest Chevrolet MyLink system.
The new Impala will be built in the Oshawa, Ontario, and Detroit-Hamtramck, Mich., assembly plants.
