CHICAGO - Some dogs are trained to sit, shake, lay down or roll over. Keegan the police dog was trained to pull the silk covering off of Ford Motor Co.'s new Police Interceptor Utility at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show.

As seen above, the canine cop did so before dozens of onlookers Thursday, as Ford revealed a vehicle that's being built right here in Chicago.

Ford's police interceptors are built at Ford's Chicago Assembly plant on the city's south side. The plant employs about 4,000 hourly workers and 200 salaried ones. The police vehicles are up-fitted just down the road at a modification center that employs another 200 people.

The new Police Interceptor Utility will be available in 80 countries, not the least of which includes the U.S., where Ford claims to have a 55 percent share of the police vehicle market.

Press preview days of the Chicago Auto Show are Thursday and Friday. The show, at McCormick Place, is open to the public Feb. 14-22.
