The Auburn Hills automaker said the first spot will run as the first commercial following the second quarter's two-minute-warning break. The second and third ads will run during the third quarter.
In recent years, FCA's Chrysler has become known for some iconic Super Bowl spots, not the least of which included the "Imported from Detroit" ad starring rapper Eminem in 2011. Last year, music legend Bob Dylan pitched the Chrysler 200. In a commercial during the 2013 Super Bowl, Clint Eastwood growled about it being "Halftime in America," and said that "the world will hear the roar of our engines."
FCA US joins a host of foreign automakers that have also announced plans for television advertising during the 2015 game, which starts at 6:30 p.m. in Glendale, Ariz.
The New England Patriots are taking on the Seattle Seahawks, the 2014 defending champs.
Other domestic carmakers, including General Motors and Ford Motor Co., are sitting out this year's game, at least in terms of airing commercials during the event.
NBC is reportedly charging $4.5 million for a 30-second spot during this year's game. That represents about a 12.5 percent rise over the price of ads charged by Fox for last year's Super Bowl.
Auto companies plan to buy about half as many advertising slots during the 2015 Super Bowl as compared to last year, according to Michigan State University advertising professor Robert Kolt.
