The Michigan Economic Development Corporation approved an incentive for a Lansing area auto supplier at its meeting Tuesday.
LANSING, MI – General Motors supplier Magna International is investing in mid-Michigan in a big way, opening one 340-job facility on Tuesday and getting state approval for incentives on another 280-job facility in the area.
Magna Exteriors and Interiors will invest $57 million in a Windsor Township facility expected to create 281 jobs after approval from the Michigan Strategic Fund today.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation approved an incentive Tuesday for a Lansing area automotive supplier. Magna Exteriors and Interiors is a subsidiary of Magna International. The new Windsor Township location will produce and assemble parts such as interior doors, floor consoles and instrument panel components. It’s expected to be 200,000 square feet and rest on a 60-acre parcel.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s (MEDC) Michigan Strategic Fund unanimously approved a $2 million state incentive for the project today.
Magna International is no stranger to MEDC incentives. The company and its subsidiaries have been approved for more than $11.2 million in incentives and tax credits, including this grant and another awarded to Autosystems America Inc. for a Wayne County project today.
Also today, Magna International opened DexSys, a new facility for the manufacture of automotive exteriors in Delta Township. Gov. Rick Snyder, U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow and members of local government were on hand. It’s expected to employ 340 people at full production.

"They have helped make it possible for us to come here and establish this world-class operation, and we are excited for the opportunity to support our customer General Motors from this new facility."
