Several performance-enhanced Chevrolet models are headed for the 2014 SEMA Show Nov. 4-7 in Las Vegas, where tens of thousands of buyers come form around the world to survey automotive specialty products.
DETROIT, MI - The Impala is in all black, even the traditionally gold bow tie.
"This is a little bit more sinister approach to the Impala," Todd Christensen, a General Motors marketing manager, said Thursday at the company's Heritage Center in Sterling Heights.
The so-called Blackout Impala that Christensen was introducing Thursday joins several performance-enhanced Chevrolet models that are headed for the 2014 SEMA Show Nov. 4-7 in Las Vegas, where tens of thousands of buyers come form around the world to survey automotive specialty products.
Along with the Impala, GM officials displayed enhanced 2015 model-year Sonic Hatchbacks, a Chevrolet SS Sport and Chevrolet Cruze RS.
GM officials said about 95 percent of the modifications seen on the Sonics, for example, will be available at dealerships almost immediately. Most of the other accessories and enhancements will be available at dealerships too, though some are still being evaluated for production.
GM officials said the mission at SEMA is to showcase Chevrolet as the brand of choice for performance, personalization and capability.

SS Sport concept
- Enhanced Some Like It Red Hot exterior with body-color door handles and mirrors
- Chevrolet Accessories grille kit, fog lamp bezels, side fender vents and rear spoiler

Sonic Performance concept

- A track-tuned suspension system developed by Chevrolet Performance. The suspension kit lowers the ride height for a sportier stance
