The new Focus ST will makes its global debut Friday in the United Kingdom, Ford Motor Co. announced today. Professional drivers, according to Ford, will showcasing the car's abilities on all three days of the event.
DEARBORN, MI- The new Focus ST will makes its global debut Friday in the United Kingdom, Ford Motor Co. announced today.
The vehicle will be unveiled at an annual hill climb featuring historic motor racing vehicles called the Goodwood Festival of Speed, commonly abbreviated as FoS. Professional drivers, according to Ford, will showcasing the car's abilities on all three days of the event.
The debut of the ST model comes four months after Ford debuted the 2015 Focus hatchback and less than three months after the 2015 Focus sedan.
The 2014 Focus ST starts at $23,700 with a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine with 252 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque. It's EPA-estimated at 23 miles per gallon city and 32 mpg highway.
Ford announced the vehicle's unveiling through a short YouTube video (embedded above) of the vehicle on a track.
Ford also says the all-new Ford Mustang will makes its first U.K. appearance during FoS. A 5.0-liter V8 fastback will take part in the Supercar Class, with Ford Team RS vehicle dynamics specialist David Put at the wheel. Ford also will display a Mustang convertible.
